Quick Tour

Here is the fastest way to use dotNovelier.

Create a project

Choose New Project, enter a title, pick a type, and set a word-count goal. New projects start empty so you can build them your way.

Add chapters

Go to Write or Corkboard and choose Add Chapter. Chapters can be dragged into order from the Binder or Corkboard.

Write in the editor

The Write tab has a Binder on the left, a manuscript page in the center, and an Inspector on the right for synopsis, POV, location, timeline, tags, and notes.

Outline on the Corkboard

Use index cards to plan chapters. Drag cards to reorder your story and edit each chapter’s synopsis.

Build your story bible

Use Characters, World Bible, and Timeline to keep continuity details in one place.

Revise and export

Use Revision to track editing tasks and Export to back up your manuscript or download project files.

Tip:Use Backup or Export regularly. Even with cloud sync, keeping your own copies is a good writing habit.
